Bineta A. Diop

Lead Instructor | Legal & Government Interpreter Training

Bineta Diop is a professional legal interpreter, language-access specialist, curriculum developer, and instructor with over 18 years of experience across legal, court, government, immigration, and community settings.

Born and raised in Senegal, West Africa, Bineta brings a strong multicultural and multilingual perspective to her profession. Her international experience includes extensive travel throughout Europe and the Middle East, providing firsthand exposure to diverse cultures, communication styles, and cross-cultural environments.

Bineta studied Political Science at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, with minors in French and Spanish. Her academic background in political science, languages, government systems, and cross-cultural communication provides a strong foundation for her work in legal and government interpretation.

Fluent in Wolof, French, English, and Spanish, Bineta currently works as an independent contractor on government interpreting assignments. Her professional experience includes interpreting within local, state, and federal legal and government settings, including Hamilton County Municipal, Domestic Relations, and Juvenile Courts, as well as assignments involving attorneys, immigration matters, government agencies, and multilingual communities.

In 2025, Bineta conceptualized and developed interpreter training programming for JS Languages, including drafting training materials and providing professional instruction to interpreters. This experience expanded her work beyond interpreting into curriculum development, interpreter education, training, and professional development.

Her expertise includes consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, sight translation, legal and government terminology, interpreter ethics, confidentiality, impartiality, cultural competency, professional role boundaries, terminology development, and language-access standards.

As an instructor, Bineta combines professional training with extensive real-world experience. Her teaching emphasizes accuracy, preparation, ethical decision-making, neutrality, professional conduct, and the practical skills required to perform effectively in high-stakes environments.

Through YALI Language Services, Bineta is committed to developing a new generation of interpreters equipped to serve courts, government institutions, legal professionals, organizations, and diverse communities with competence and integrity.

Participants who successfully complete the full interpreter training curriculum, fulfill all required practical assignments, and pass the final assessment/examination will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their successful training in professional interpreting principles, ethics, standards, techniques, and language-access practices.
